Former Eat Good Food Space to Become Chocolate Bar

Sweet. Chocolate. Quite possibly my favorite food group.

The Addison Independent announced today that the College plans to turn the former Eat Good Space into a chocolate bar that would “serve a wide variety of chocolates–both international and local.” All fair trade, I hope? The bar would “also sell tea, coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate.”

But what about Carol’s Hungry Mind? According the Independent, Dean of the College Tim Spears said, “We hope that it is not going to step on their toes too much,” “adding the college will reach out to involve Carol’s in programming at the space.” Coffee bar crawl during Senior Week?

But it doesn’t stop there. The former Eat Good Food Space (say, does this place have a name yet? I tire of calling it the former EGFS!) will also serve as a student lounge, open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, that would serve beer and wine to those of legal age. Live entertainment is also a possibility.

The FEGFS (clever, eh?) could also become a community space where Midd Kids and Midd Townies alike could work on community service projects. There may also be a retail aspect of FEGFS, selling faculty books or student CDs.

Midd Blog wants to know: What do you think about the plans for FEGFS?
