Nick Garza: A Month Later

Nick Garza

It has been a little over a month now since Nick Garza ‘11 went missing on February 5. There are more questions than answers in his puzzling disappearance.

The Burlington Free Press published an article yesterday that recaps what police do know about Nick’s disappearance, what has happened since then, and, of course, what this experience has been like for his mother, Natalie:

Natalie Garza doesn’t hesitate when asked how long she plans to stay in Vermont: “Until I find my son.” Still, life has become a series of challenges and doubts.

“Everything is so …” Natalie Garza said, wiping away a tear and leaving the thought unfinished. “Day to day, my world is just thrown into … “

“… Limbo,” [Tanya] Sierra [Natalie's sister] said, completing her sister’s sentence. “Horrible. Waiting. We’re in this horrible nightmare, and we just want to see it through.”

Natalie has shown amazing strength and determination; she has been Nick’s voice and his advocate. She has done so much to bring in outside help and resources. When Nick returns, he will be so proud of his mom.

You, too, can continue to help Nick by joining the Facebook group “Middlebury Student Nick Garza is Missing” and inviting your friends, the idea being that the more people who see Nick’s picture, the better. You can also donate money to the Garza Family Fund:
