Steven Hauschka ’07 Joins NFL
Word has it that Steven Hauschka ’07 will be a kicker in the National Football League for the Baltimore Ravens in this upcoming football season. He practiced fighting off the cold of Baltimore with the experience of winter games at Middlebury College, where he majored in neuroscience. He did pre-season and training camp with the Minnesoota Vikings this year.
His NC State Profile says, “Didn’t play football until his sophomore year at Middlebury College, where he competed on the jayvee soccer team as a freshman * Broke school records as a senior for field goals in a season (10) at Middlebury * Was 10-of-12 in field goals on the season, helping lead the Panthers to a 6-2 record * Connected on a school record 20 field goals during his career * Named to the New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England team * First-team all-conference selection as a kicker and punter as a senior and was second team as a sophomore and junior * Was a District I Academic All-American by CoSIDA as a senior * Majored in neuroscience at Middlebury * Was named to the D3football.com second-team All-East team * Played soccer at Needham High School in Needham, Mass., he didn’t play high school football * Enrolled in graduate school for Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at NC State”
