Intercollegiate Quidditch World Cup 2008 Announced!

As if the freshmen (sorry, first-years) could get any more excited, Commissioner Alex Benepe released news of the Intercollegiate World Cup 2008! Mark your calendars now:

The Middlebury College Campus
Sunday October 26th, 2008
10 AM – 6 PM

The commissioner himself promises: “Tons of live entertainers, bands, hot food, games, merchandise, media coverage, and two fully equipped tournament quidditch fields!” That’s not even counting the growing number of teams from other schools. Rumor has it that Benepe is aiming for 60 teams to compete against Middlebury’s representative team which will be chosen the day before, Oct. 25, in league play. With the amount of other schools visiting, is there a chance Middlebury will lose the Cup?
