Haus Party will “not be supplying free ecstasy”

A few days back, we posted on the underground “haus” event happening this Saturday. Well, maybe not so underground after all? A Facebook message went out to “haus” attendees this afternoon stating:

Given the amount of rumors circulating this event, we have decided to issue an official statement:

1. “haus” is a student initiative that is being funded by and organized with the help of the MCAB Concerts Committee, making this an official MCAB event.

2. Contrary to popular belief and a comment in today’s Campus, we will obviously not be supplying free ecstasy at the door or any other sort of illegal substance. This is an official event that abides by all school regulations in order to secure every student’s safety and integrity.

And the clear joke in today’s Campus Winners and Losers section set off an administrative hustle to make sure students know that nothing elicit will go down on Saturday night. But let’s be honest, what student actually would think that free drugs would be handed out for a ticketed event? Middlebury is not Amsterdam. For now, everyone should probably just take a chill pill… no drugs, just good ol’ fashion sweaty dancing with lots of lights and electronica.
