MiddBlog’s Guide to Housing/Roomdraw 2009
It’s Day Two of the Housing March Madness. By now, you’ve been asked by everyone and their mom what your room draw number is. Low-number kids all-of-a-sudden are popular. High number kids have started baking cookies and doing your laundry. And now the strategy begins. Or does it?
Perhaps it’s not the best of ideas, but MiddBlog has created a space to aggregate comments about various housing options on campus. Since everybody at Middlebury freaks out for three weeks during the process, our philosophy is more information = better for everyone:
So give it a spin: MiddBlog’s Housing 2009 Guide
All we ask is that, if you find the housing guide useful, please leave more information about your current and past housing so that we can increase our knowledge base. Tell us about your housing (no heat? too cramped? no lounge? too far? too loud? too quiet? party house? sub-free hall? etc.) so that everyone can benefit from your endless wisdom of having experienced it before.
UPDATE 3/19: Spotted an inventive closed facebook group today that attempted to get a group of friends organized for room draw. Some text from the description of the group: ”We must act now or risk living in far flung enclaves all around campus. This group is for making and sharing ideas about what to do to get the most people with awful random numbers into suites, in preparation for small and large block draw. Let’s get some dialogue going!! So, join the group, post your random number (even if everybody already knows it, and especially if you want to be “saved” in a suite–Will, I am thinking of you here…), and we can all live together among friends!” Now that’s organizing!
