Middlebury Grand Finals Poetry Slam
Last Friday Poor Form Poetry packed Atwater for the Grand Finals Middlebury Slam Poetry competition. Dartmouth poets The Soul Scribes opened the show. Nine poets competed in the first round, with six going on to the second, and a final four winning the Middlebury competition. The four poets who qualified with the highest scores were Maya Goldberg-Safir ’12.5, Abigail Borah ‘13, Anna Gallagher ‘12, and Olivia Grugan ‘12.5. They will compete at CUPSI (College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational) in California later this year.
MC’s Cody Gohl ‘13 and Marea Colombo ‘13 conducted a sideline dating service, auctioning off dates with fellow slam poets in order to raise funds for the team’s trip to nationals. I won a date with Fif. It was magical.
