Sarah Groff ’04 finishes 4th at London Olympics

Midd grad Sarah Groff ’04 finished just short of a medal in the women’s triathlon on Saturday at the 2012 Olympics in London. Groff finished in exactly 2 hours, just 10 seconds after Australia’s Erin Densham who captured the bronze. After the grueling two-hour endurance test of swimming, cycling, and running, the gold went to Nicola Spirig of Switzerland in a photo finish after Sweden’s Lisa Norden came up just millimeters short in the sprint portion of the race.

Groff was named to the All-NESCAC and All-American teams for her successes and still holds many of the team’s all-time top times. She majored in Conservation Biology and Studio Art.
