UN Secretary-General to Speak at MIIS
On Friday, January 18, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will deliver an address on disarmament and nonproliferation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. His address, titled “Advancing the Disarmament and Nonproliferation Agenda: Seeking Peace in an Over-armed World,” will discuss the United Nations’ challenges regarding disarmament and nonproliferation. After his talk, Mr. Ban will hold a question and answer session with the MIIS audience.
MIIS is co-hosting the event with its James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, which focuses on research to prevent the spreading of weapons of mass destruction.
The event will be live-streamed at go.miis.edu/unsg at 1:30pm EST on Friday, January 18. More information can be found online at http://www.miis.edu/about/newsroom/stories/node/30428.

The James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies is part of the Monterey Institute, so what does it mean they are co-sponsoring? It’s like saying the Rohatyn Center and Middlebury College are co-sponsoring an event. Right?
