Middlebury’s Quidditch team did not do well enough in the Northeast Regional Championship this weekend to qualify for the Quidditch World Cup VI, which will be held on April 13-14, 2013 in Kissimmee, FL.
This came as a shock to many, as Middlebury has won every World Cup in history up to this date (five total), including a close World Cup last year. Middlebury had never even lost a game before last year’s World Cup. Here are some reactions on Twitter:

The fact that Middlebury didn’t make the cut changes everything. Pegging URochester, Stony Brook, and Vassar for the last 3 bids. #quidditch

Feel sorry for the teams who will never see Midd play. Hate them or love them, they were always exciting to watch. #quidditch
